Orders and shipping

Are your products genuine Hakko?

Yes absolutely. We are an authorised distributor of Hakko products in the UK and we import all our products directly from Hakko Corporation in Japan. You can purchase from our site with complete confidence.

What does ‘Available To Order*’ mean in terms of order delivery times?

We hold as much stock as possible on all popular Hakko lines, however in some cases we may run out of stock. If this is case, we will order the parts for you directly from Hakko Corporation in Japan. Due to the time it takes to ship from Japan, your lead time for a back ordered item is between 6-10 weeks depending on when the next order is due for delivery.

I can’t find the product I’m looking for?

Not to worry; it’s possible that we have not listed it on the website yet. Please call our offices or email us the part you need and we can order it directly from Hakko Corporation Japan.

When will I receive my order?

We aim to deliver your order as soon as possible, if you order before 12pm Monday-Friday, your order will be processed and shipped the same day – (stock levels permitting). Shipping is usually 2-3 days.

How much does shipping cost / How is it calculated?

Shipping is calculated based on your location, the order value and whether the order includes hazardous items. See the shipping table here

How long does Hakko support discontinued products?

Hakko guarantee to supply replacement parts for 3 years, and consumable parts such as tips for 5 years after the date of discontinuation. However, we will hold stock past this date until the stock runs out. For more information on the date of discontinuation please contact us.

How can I pay for my order?

We accept most credit or debit cards or PayPal. If you would like to pay via an alternate method please call our customer service line.

Returns

Can I return a faulty item and easily order a replacement?

Yes, of course. You may return a faulty item within 28 days of delivery. Please contact our customer support in order to discuss the return of a faulty item and order a replacement.

Why will my Soldering Tip not Heat up?

This can be caused by a number of factors; please read our maintenance guides online or feel free to contact us for further assistance.

Can I order replacement parts?

Yes, we have a replacement parts here which can be filtered by unit on the left. Each product page also lists the relevant replacement parts. Still can’t find what you need? Please call our offices or drop us an email and we will be happy to help.

How do I program my Hakko Station?

Each station is different but will come with an instruction booklet. If this is not sufficient we also include a ‘maintenance’ tab on the product page that includes lots of helpful videos and tips on how to use the station and a ‘Tech Tips’ section.

How do I change a Soldering Tip?

Hakko Soldering irons are quick and easy to change tips, to find more information on this view the ‘maintenance’ tab on the product page.

Why do Tips oxidize easily when they are used with lead-free solder?

Lead-free solder oxidizes the tip of the soldering iron four to five times as fast as eutectic solder. To read more about this view the article here

How often should I change my Soldering Tip?

Hakko Soldering tips are built to last however over time they will corrode. We would recommend that you change tips regularly to ensure the best performance.

Can I clean a Soldering Tip?

Over time Tips will corrode so they will need replacing, however tips can be cleaned to extend their life via a variety of methods. For best results try our range of tip cleaners such as the FT700 or FT710 combined with cleaning paste FS100. Read more on Cleaning in our ‘Tech Tips’ article
